My yoga journey started in London.
Back then I was working in busy fashion industry and I was living the big city dream. A nice income, a ever growing social life and very little time spent taking care of myself. I was a very hot tempered little lady and I was often leting stress overpowering my mind. I was advised to practice yoga in order to deal better with my cyclotomic mood. Truth is I didn't want to admit I had behaviour disorder and undertaking yoga class would have meant that people around where right... So I started by myself, in my living room, trying to understand how standing on one foot could actually help me on the process of dealing with my emotions.
Few months later I had the opportunity to travel shortly to India. I was not going there for yoga but yoga came to me during that trip.
I was staying in an hotel near a retreat and curiosity brought me there on the first morning. I met with a fabulous German teacher who managed to pull tears of joy from my eyes right from the start. Few words, few breaths and for the first time I felt connected to my true self and not to my emotions. I came to her religiously every morning for a week before leaving India, with a growing love for yoga in my heart.
Then came the time to move to Montreal and finding a flat right in front of the yoga studio Wanderlust was a blessing. My favourite teachers Adam Mamhoud, Chloé Robertson, Janie Pelletier taught me most everything I know and left me with a beautiful mantra : " Don't look down, look forward "!
After 3 year of almost daily practice, I decided to go back to the start to undergo my yoga teacher training. I flew back to India, in the city where I had my first yoga class. After my teacher training; I had the chance to teach in the very same shalla where I had my first real yoga class more than three years earlier!
After few month spent in India and Sri Lanka, teaching and travelling I arrived in Brussels where I start to teach full time yoga.
I felt blessed recently when Let's yoga Shiatsu welcome me in their team, alongside them for very relaxing yin classes.
I hope to meet you soon on the mat.
For the first time I participate in yoga class when I was 23 years old.
At that time just by a chance I had see a little advert for Satyananda yoga classes given in some small place in meeting/workshop room, fitting not more than 12 yoga mats.
It happened in the south of France in La Seyne sur mer, near Toulon. It wasn’t like a fancy yoga Shala with all the decoration and bling bling that goes with it J, only a simple room where we used to put some chairs on the side of the room to have more free space for the mats.
So I have met this yoga teacher - K.S. Prabhu Bhakti - British gentleman from the north of London (originally), living in the south of France over 30 years and still keeping this sweet English accentJ.
And my yoga journey started that day, after the first test class, when I have realized that I had totally different opinion about yoga and I was surprised how match it was physical, mental, spiritual, challenging, recharging, relaxing, reconnecting, …
I found a new drug - Yoga - the link between you and You, connection with yourself through yourself, finding, discovering your world and maybe Universe within you,
After several month of weekly group practice and few workshops, I was looking for more knowledge and then I took twice and 3 times a week yoga guided practice routine. Wow, then I remember I had opened my eyes wider so quickly. I’m still thankful to him, for all his passion and willingness to share what he knew and for all his encouraging words for me to go extra step further, to take Yoga Teacher Training. Just hope one day he would accept my invitation to visit Brussels and share his knowledge.
After few years of intensive yoga practice and many workshops I have decide to quit my maitre d’hôtel job in the luxury hotel and moved to Thailand, Bangkok, to undertake a Yoga Teacher Training program. 2006 I went to Yoga Elements Studio in Bangkok – at that time voted 11thbest yoga studio in the world, where I had a chance to meet and practice with beautiful souls as: Adrian Philip Cox, James Boag, Cerissa Nyen, Tulay Konca, Daniel Strausser, Dylan Bernstein, Paddy McGrath, Danny Paradise, …
Unfortunately for the family reasons I had to move back to Europe, this time to one other kingdom - UK, London. Working for English Government City of London Corporation and giving yoga classes during the free time and few years later to Breda, Netherlands (the 3rdkingdom). Here I did work for Yoga Site, Dorinda Farver.
2011 was the year I arrived to Brussels, lived in Uccle where my son was born…Oh Bruxelles ma belle, quelle histoire. I divorced after 13 years of marriage and soon after got involved in a relationShit where I almost give up yoga teaching. Because of the toxic partner jealousy and her lacks of trust and self-confidence, I was off the yoga radar for about 3 years, until I realized it was slowly ending me and my passion. I just knew that the toxic relationship had to end and fortunately Universe guided me here where I am now - DariusYoga. It’s going to be 3 years now that I’m finally doing what I love - sharing Yoga.
I teach yoga at Let’s yoga and Shiatsu Brussels with a lovely bunch of teachers, where I have opportunity to learn more and deepen my yoga practice and the support .It’s such a blessing. Here I found John Scott community, thanks to Ramona.
I hope to See you around or on the yoga mat some time.
I just came back from an amazing trip to the South of India and still feel somehow changed and different regarding my life back home…
I spend two weeks practicing Ashtanga Yoga with John and Julia Scott and afterward I was travelling for another couple of days through Goa and Karnataka, from Hampi to mythical Mysore.
The practice of Ashtanga on the Mother India Land has just another dimension and it is something very special. The high temperature, the humidity of the air, the landscape, the people and even the time and the space are so different from what we might know in Europe that your body and mind need to switch from one level to another in order to get used to this new situation.
While practicing with a small group of yogis and amazing teachers, you can fell that with the morning adjustments from your Mysore practice, there is not only your body that you are working on, but your mind keeps adjusting as well a whole day long.
(I call it an Internal Adjustment, from inside on…).
And this is where the magic happens, you can really feel the presence of Mother India with all the spirituality surrounding you, shaking your body and awaken your soul, on and on… And somehow you become it, you breathe it, you absorb it and it becomes a part of you for now and forever.
Yoga means ‘The Union’ and for me this India trip was everything about ‘The Connection’.
Connection to the people, to myself, to my body and mind, to the past, to the future and of course to the present moment, while breaking and undoing every believes that I could have until now.
The generosity of all the human being that crossed my Indian path opened also my heart. Once you are surrounded by so much kindness, humility and love you cannot stay the same anymore and you start to see your life like an enormous gift that you have been lucky enough to receive from the Universe…
Yeah, this is what Mother India does to you.. once you let it go….
I have now passed decades in my life and if there is one sentence I often found my self repeating was that "I want peace" ! Ever since my childhood I found the experiences in my life everything but peaceful! Stalked by war as a 9 year old with my family and the journey escaping Iran to Sweden follow by many traumas into my teenage years. It was far from anything peaceful. The images of war and the separation from loved ones has been carved in my memories for ever! After many years of studies, a scholarship grant brought me to Brussels were I felt very much welcomed and decided to come back and stay. I met the father of my daughter and with a great position in a pharmaceutic company I began to repeatedly asking if I was happy?? if I had found the peace I was searching for? I wanted peace in my mind , in my body and in my heart !! soon, I came to realisation that you can not have one without the other and my journey of pursuing peace and happiness began in 2007, when I embarked on teaching from big spiritual zen masters and great yoga teachers ! The more I was feeling and experiencing these teachings the more I was yearning to understand and apply it into my daily life . Yoga and shiatsu came to change my life.
What was most important in this process of learning was that I stayed patient, humble and open to what ever life had to offer, accepting each experience and past history as an essential growth for my spiritual path!
In my teaching I don’t preach nor postulate , I simply pass on what was thought to me and if I can change one persons mind toward the peace that I have come to residence, than my work has been of value and my legacy has been cemented.
The birth of Lets-yoga & shiatsu shala in 2016 is one of the many beautiful project I have come to encounter ! Creation of a place for likeminded people coming together, openly supporting and learning from each others experiences.
I’m humbly grateful for Johns Scott’s community teachers and Lucy Crawford, passing on their valuable teachings in lets-yoga Brussels. I continue pursuing my call which is also my passion and I thank all beautiful souls supporting my project.

My yoga journey started five years ago when I discovered Bikram Yoga.
If you don't know that style, you practice for 90 minutes a pre-defined sequence of asanas in a heated room. I loved it but I started it for the wrong reasons: I did not like my body and I had read that you could burn up to 800 kcal in one session.Of course, turns out it was not true :)
Then I fell in love with running. I was so into that because I could find peace of mind, concentration, determination. When I was running, I couldn't think about anything else that the fact I was running. I literally was into the present moment. And I was amazed by each km I was able to run ! I even did the 20km of Brussels and a half marathon. But then my knee got injured, really injured. And I needed to find something that could bring me peace again. I tried spinning, weight lifting/training, stretching etc. It was nice, but it never brought me that little extra sparkle. Until I stepped into an intermediate vinyasa yoga class... damn that was so hard! And I the end of the class, I realized that for the pas 75 minutes, I couldn't think about anything else other than practicing yoga. There it was: my peace of mind, my way to consciousness. Quickly, I started practicing every single morning at Darius' shala. I started to love my body, seeing the crazy sh*** it can do !
After a few months, he introduced me to Ramona's teaching: ashtanga. I remember I started to practice with Ramona, and fell completely in love (with her, of course ^^) with the ashtanga practice. And it hasn't left my side ever since. I did a teacher training in Vinyasa Yoga in Aruba with Rachel Brathen (@yoga_girl).
I recently left my corporate job to become a full time yoga teacher, leading vinyasa, ashtanga, hatha and yin yoga in various places. And I have forever grateful for every single person who ever joined my classes - you changed my life. Thank you.

Set the intention to continually work on your wellness, dreams & soul purpose
Happy New Year dear friends.
Thank you for another wonderful year together. Thank you for your beautiful emails and comments. I appreciate them so very much. It is my sincere honor to bring you inspiring and life-changing practice each day.
The beginning of the year is an auspicious time to reset our energy, cleanse our body and mind from the inside out, and this is the time where new years resolutions kicks in;-)
Personally, I do not make New Year's resolutions, but I do set the intention to continually work on my wellness: body, mind, and spirit. I have dreams & desire to go as deep as I can in my healing process to help not only myself but my family , friends and the world as a whole. I know many of us feel the same. So if you havn't done this yet, Today pause and look consciously at you, your life, at this coming year. Set out intention for the year to come. No doubt there are several things you want to work on, change, improve or let go of.
This is where the power of a regular yoga and meditative practicecomes in and helps you to tackle that day to day life challenges. If you take your time and take practice seriously it helps you to embrace your destiny and align with your soul mission.
Perhaps you are already aligned or doing what your soul is yearning to do in order to serve the world. Perhaps you're in search for that inner voice, or you are already in that regular daily practice mode but it has got old and in geared into a autopilot, which is why the genuine teacher can help awaken understanding so it is fresh, everyday. Don’t just follow, ask questions. Don’t just do it, connect to it and feel it. In such a way that the practice you engage in, takes on its own life and opens up possibilities for you previously not seen or considered . For that you'll have to take the commitment and discipline to create your own set of rules, to make your goals and dreams happen ..
Are you ready to embark this year with your set of rules and discipline to recharge and transform you ?
Than you are in the right place to come home, to listen to that inner voice , to meet the infinite potential You and
unconditional love that you are ...
With Love &gratitude
