About Me

Greetings & Namaste,
First, I offer deep respects and thanks to my Shiatsu Masters and yoga teachers whose guidance has enabled me to grow in this path . I am also grateful to have come acrosse with many great Yogies, John & Lucy Scott, Peter Sanson, Manju Joise and Shartath through many wounderful workshops .
Shiatsu and yoga path has been grounded in certain practices that have grown in intensity over the years.
I have been studying theses two ancient therapy techniques in parallel and have been amazed of similarities and complementary aspects they share. Meditations, DO-IN (Japaneese stretching), Pranayama and Asana practices have refined my behaviour and influenced how I live in this world--taking care of family, making a living, and interacting with others and sharing the passion with every single soul I meet.
Each day I learn, from my daughter, from my teachers, loving partner and these interactions keep me reflecting on myself, which in turn helps me grow.
As I continue to do today, I simply aime to understand it, apply it, live it, and then pass it on in the realm of teaching and Zen practition.

My passion and vocation

In my early years I had very strong interest in human body, health, physiology, nutrition and digestion. I believe a knowledge of this is essential for understanding the Shiatsu and yoga process.
I continued to take courses in the study of the Massage therapy, reflexology and various therapy courses including being trained as a Zone therapist.
With a degree in Medical Biology at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm , I did not go out into the world with any notion of becoming a Zen shiatsu practitioner nor did I realize the love and passion I grow for Yoga.
When I discovered Ashtanga yoga in 2008, I had already experienced working in the research of medical and Pharmaceutical business world more tha 10 years and I was entertaining my passion for my daughter, music and art. But Shiatsu, yoga and the spiritual path persistently called on me. I found I could not refuse, and soon my own healing journey began when I enrolled in a 4 years study of Oriental medicine and Shiatsu with Master Yuichi Kawada and soon after 200h teacher training.
In 2012, the path had me ! A crucial turning point in my journey with myself. A yearning from deep within to drive right into the heart of the method. I realised at some point that, in fact, I knew nothing and that the best I could do was commit wholeheartedly to the continuous study practise and surrender. I traveleld to India, the land of Yoga, Chai, coconuts, silk and sandalwoods.
My first trip to Mysore to further study at the Ashtanga Yoga research Institute. The home of Ashtanga Guru, Sri K Patthabi Jois, who since he passed away , his grandson R, Sharath Jois has taken over the direction of the Institute.
Recently, I deepened my practice and education in yoga and pranayama, studying with the incredible teachers Paul Dallaghan, at Yoga thailand , Samahita Retreat and wellness in Kohsamui and following under training and qualification with John and Lucy Scott, at Stillpoint yoga in Cornwall, England.
I am also very excited to be collaborating with teachers at Yogaplace in Maastrich on the YogaGives Back project.

Founder Of Let's Yoga Studio
After a decade career in medical and pharmaceutical industry, I began teaching yoga in Brussels in 2008, and qualified as a yoga therapist through the JohnScott Yoga (Cornwall) .
I have studying various approaches to yoga and alternative therapies since 2004, and regularly learn from teachers in India, Japan, Europe, and US. Most of my work involves individualised yoga or mindfulness-based therapy, using Chinese medicine/ Shiatsu, Yogic and Buddhist principles to support treatment.
I believe in teaching people, not poses, which makes each class unique, focused and transformative, responding to the needs and energy of the moment. The postural practice is just one gateway to understanding yoga, with the ultimate aim of becoming a more fully aware, balanced and integrated being.
Life's challenges present opportunities for personal and spiritual growth, and serve as signposts on the path to awakening. Ashtanga yoga, Japanese (DO-In) yoga, Pranayama (breath work) and meditation practice is healing, empowering and inspiring. It's deeply satisfying to watch people tap into their potential and discover and transform themselves through ancient wisdom teachings.
My 12 years of developing a personal mindfulness practice provide tools and support both in my therapy work and as a parent. I have especially been blessed to spend years with Masters and great teachers on retreats since 2008.
My yoga therapy practice includes clients dealing with emotional and physical health issues, such as back problems, chronic pain, Diabetes, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, Crohn's disease, breast cancer, anxiety and depression. I also use Daniel Schroder's "corps astral" and energetic reading as a way to understand one's energy pattern to deepen self-awareness.
The individual sessions that I offer can involve any of the above tools, including spiritual guidance.
My roots are in Iran and in Sweden and I live in Brussels since 1998.
Teaching for me is not a carrier but a vocation that needs to be experienced. It takes hard work, discipline and motivation to get there and I see myself being very lucky to have had that support to have come this far. My journey continues...
Thank you for taking your time knowing about me.
OM, Shanti
